Professional gutter leak repair in Farragut TN near Kingston Pike - Fixing failed corner seams.

Project Overview

A customer located in the heart of Farragut, just off Kingston Pike, called us regarding a persistent, annoying leak right above their front entryway. Every time it rained, a steady drip eroded the landscaping below and created a massive sheet of ice across the walkway during the winter months.

We discovered that the original installation utilized cheap, thin sealant on the corner miters that had dried out, cracked, and completely failed under the intense summer sun. Additionally, the gutter was pitched incorrectly, causing water to sit stagnant over the front door.

Failed corner seams were allowing water to drip continuously onto the main walkway, creating a severe slip-and-fall ice hazard during freezing temperatures. The structural sag also held stagnant water, breeding mosquitoes.

We scraped out all the old, brittle caulking and cleaned the aluminum joint to bare metal. We applied a thick layer of commercial-grade tri-polymer sealant. We then removed the loose spikes and installed 5 heavy-duty hidden hangers, adjusting the pitch so the water rushed immediately toward the downspout.
